Soon I realized where that extra spark came from: the members have backgrounds in punk, hardcore, and metal — and you can feel that heritage in every chord, now channeled into a festive and contagious sound.

La primera vez que escuché a Orchestre Tisonnier me sorprendió. Es de esas bandas que atrapan desde el primer impacto, con una energía que se siente más allá del folk tradicional. Before the album arrives, the band released “L’échelle d’abandon”, a track that blends luminous instrumentation with exposed emotions. It contrasts sonic lightness with introspective lyrics, narrating detachment and the struggle for liberation with vitality and resistance. Their second single, “Une bouteille bien vieillie” (August 14), confirmed the path ahead: rawer, more direct, more poetic songs that prepare the ground for what promises to be a key record in Québec’s folk scene.

Formed in 2020 in Québec, Orchestre Tisonnier is a French-speaking acoustic folk-punk group. With roots in punk, hardcore, and metal, they’ve found a way to channel that energy into a festive yet sharp sound, without losing authenticity. Their debut album Des trous dans nos vies brought them to stages across Québec, and this new work promises to push them even further: one foot in tradition, the other breaking its limits.

Formado en 2020, Orchestre Tisonnier es un grupo francófono de folk punk acústico nacido en Québec. Sus integrantes, con pasado en el punk, hardcore y metal, encontraron aquí una manera de canalizar esa energía en un sonido festivo y cercano, sin perder filo ni autenticidad. Su primer álbum Des trous dans nos vies los llevó a recorrer escenarios por todo Québec, y este nuevo trabajo promete empujarlos aún más lejos: con un pie en la tradición y otro rompiendo límites.
