Forgetting someone has its own ritual. Quelle Rox understands this: first comes the quiet, that moment hanging in the air before everything sinks in. Mint Cherry Red (pa’ olvidarte amor) begins right at that point, filtered and still, before the bass comes in and the emotions settle — sadness, euphoria, freedom — all moving together, with none taking over. You can hear that blend in the textures and the way the song’s atmosphere slowly unfolds. Her influences are clear, but Quelle Rox makes them her own with a subtle sensuality that never tries too hard.

She grew up in South Florida, surrounded by Miami’s Latin culture, then moved to New York for school and stayed in Brooklyn. She’s Puerto Rican and Cuban, produces her own music, and sings in whatever language feels right for the song. This track, for example, begins with something simple: just wanted to hold a hand.

Then comes the ritual: the liquor store closes at ten, there are girlfriends, the club, kissin’ my girlfriends, mint cherry red.The video captures that same world — colourful and sensual, shifting between day and night in New York and Coney Island, with that red always present. And I went to the club, and I and I. The night keeps moving, and so does the song.

Mint Cherry Red is the first in a series of singles Quelle Rox will release throughout 2026, leading up to an EP she’s been working on for some time. We’re left wanting to know what’s next — like when a good night ends and you’re already looking forward to the next one.
