AIMÊE – “Neoregueton”: Darker, Denser, Further
AIMÊE keeps proving why we love her with every new release. We first introduced her with “35 Este,” which was raw, direct, and unfiltered. She’s never afraid to speak her mind, sing her truth, or show exactly who she is and what she wants. She doesn’t take shortcuts or fit into anyone’s mold. She isn’t worried about whether the industry is ready for something different. That’s what matters most to us.
Génesis Zabala, from Santo Domingo, brings together flute, rap, vocals, and performance. Starting with “Tercer Mundo”in 2021, which delivered aggressive, street-level rap, to the “Amigo” series with Mediopicky, where her irreverence moves through hyperpop, punk, and merengue without losing its core. Each release goes further, and “Neoregueton” is no different.

Neoregueton, produced with Quiterio, takes the sounds of Dominican reggaeton and moves them into a darker, heavier space. It features an aggressive electronic base, distorted textures, and suggestive choruses. The song builds desire through repetition and tension, with each loop tightening the mood. It brings the fast energy of gabber, a touch of horror style, and uses explicit language as a tool. AIMÊE sings with both pleasure and control.
If you want something easy or familiar, AIMÊE isn’t it. This song is meant to be heard with an open mind and played loud. It’s worth being there when it hits its peak.
